Couples preparing for marriage are invited to choose their own mentor couple — trusted friends or relatives who will walk with them, guide them, and witness to the beauty of a Christ-centered marriage.
This approach makes marriage preparation deeply personal and relational. You are encouraged to prayerfully select a couple you already look up to and feel comfortable with — a couple whose faith and relationship you wish to learn from and emulate.
Choosing Your Mentors
Your chosen mentor couple should meet the following criteria:
-
They are not immediate family members (not parents or siblings).
-
They are practicing Catholics who actively live out their faith.
-
They have been married for at least five years and live their vocation with love and commitment.
Your mentors will journey with you throughout your marriage preparation — meeting with you regularly, sharing their faith and experiences, and helping you integrate God’s love into your relationship.
Don’t Know Anyone Yet?
If you don’t already know a couple who fits these criteria, don’t worry! Simply check out the list of Volunteer Mentors from the menu. Please take time to read through the profiles of each volunteer mentor couple. Learn about their faith journeys, family life, and experiences — and choose the couple whose story resonates most with you or with whom you feel a genuine connection.
Once you have decided who your mentor will be, set up the second meeting with your Coaching Couple for the Witness to Love Orientation.
