Marriage Formation Process

The Marriage Formation course includes the following

A Joyful Marriage
Communication
God’s Plan for Marriage
Prepare/Enrich Couples Report
Couple’s Finance
Married Couple’s Testimony
Life Issues and Fertility Health
Conflict Resolution
Witness to Love Marriage Mentorship

To help you stay organized, here's a step-by-step checklist of everything you’ll need to complete:

☐ Meet with Priest for the initial interview - Priest will fill out the Parish Marriage Formation form and the office will send this to the Marriage Ministry Coordinator.

☐ One of the Coach Couple will reach out to set up 1st meeting to review the two-part marriage preparation program:

- Archdiocese Marriage Preparation

- Witness to Love Mentor Program

*Note that these two programs are mandatory requirements and can be done in parallel of each other (it is not a pre-requisite to finish one before starting the other).

Marriage Prep Courses:

☐ Register for Archdiocese Marriage Preparation Course & Fertility Health Awareness

☐ Attend the Marriage Prep Courses

☐ Complete the Prepare/Enrich Online Relationship Assessment Tool - the instructions will be emailed to you after your Marriage Prep Course Registration

☐ Attend the Fertility Health Awareness Seminar

☐ Archdiocese office will send a Certificate of Completion

Witness to Love Program

☐ Choose a Mentor Couple to journey with you in the Witness to Love program. Refer to the Mentors Page for details in choosing your mentor

☐ Once a Mentor has been chosen, set up meeting with the Coaching Couple, you and your fiancé, & your Mentor Couple to discuss the program and expectations

☐ Start your Witness to Love journey with your Mentor Couple
- Couple complete the homework from the workbook

- Monthly meetings with the Mentor Couple to view videos, discuss, share and ask questions.

☐ Complete the Witness to Love Program before your wedding date by Submitting the Witness to Love Survey.

☐ A Certificate of Completion will be sent to the Couple and the Coach.

☐ The Coach will forward the Certificate to the Priest.

After both Programs are done

☐ Set up appointment with Priest before the wedding for Family or witness interview

☐ Wedding Day!

☐ Continue accompaniment with your Mentor Couple & Parish Community after your wedding
